What I Did In February (Updated:3/4/16)

RECORDING

I cut keys, strings, and piano on some tracks for Evans Blue's new album, "iGod", set to release later this spring. The new album is a mix of metal and dubstep, and I really enjoyed working on the tracks.

I cut some tracks with Mikei & Thieves, including a song called "Airplanes", and "All I Wanna Do" for their upcoming album. Here's what the group sounds like:

Greg Baggett asked me to work on a track called "You're The One For Me". I got Beatles inspired, and played clarinet and about a dozen other instruments on it.

• I played keys on a project for country pop artist Lily Nelsen, which is scheduled to release later this month. You can check out the debut single from the album here.

I cut keys for a track with Kira Hooks under the direction of Adam Townsell. Adam's building some custom reverb software, and we helped him test it out. Ben Jackson cut drums, and I jammed out with Kira on an Alicia Keys-inspired track.

• I did a smattering of one-off recordings for various artists, including Philana Goodrich, Michael Barfield, and a few others.

LIVE SHOWS

It was a slow month of shows, but I did manage to get one string of shows with Mikei Grey down in Alabama during the month of February. Most bands aren't playing out a lot right now, and with being in the studio every week, I've had my hands full around town.

Recording with Trevor Kustiak in his home studio for Evans Blue. Trevor just moved to town, and has already set up a killer project studio in East Nashville.

We're in the process of building the fencing for the studio parking lot in our backyard. We're also working with an architect to design the recording studio, as well.
