Right Place Vs. Right Time

You can’t control the right time, but you can be in the right place.

I moved to Nashville based on this idea. Nashville is exactly the right place for a musician like I am, and while the move was difficult, things have really taken off since I’ve been here. I constantly run into other people who do music. I’m challenged every week to be better, do more, and reach a new level of professionalism.

You don’t have to move to a major music market to be in the right place. The right place could be developing a small studio in a smaller market that brings the best musicians together. It could be hanging out at the right coffeehouse, or hosting the best open mic in town.

Don’t worry about the right time. Focus on hanging out in the right place, and time will take care of the rest.

One of the "right places" I've been- Balanced Breakfast music industry meetups in downtown Nashville.
