MainStage Mondays: Alternative Uses For MainStage

MainStage makes an amazing rig for a keyboardist, but it’s not just limited to the black and white imitation ivories. Here are 5 things I bet you didn’t know you can use MainStage for:

1. Guitar Rig

MainStage offers some pretty amazing amp simulators, and a full suite of stomp box style pedals.

2. Mixer

Connect an audio interface, load up the Mixer project template, and you have an instant mixer with any FX you like.

3. Vocal FX

MainStage does an awesome job of handling audio, which could include a vocal. Imagine putting a convolution reverb on to your voice live, and even putting your lyrics in the project window.

4. Backing Tracks

Need to run backing tracks? MainStage does a great job of it, even giving you the ability to make on the fly jumps to different sections.

5. Electronic Drum Kit

If you’re a drummer and want to use plugins live, I can’t imagine a better app for doing it. MainStage has the most flexible midi programming on the market, meaning you could map any pad or trigger to any sound you like.
