Why I Still Love Blogs In 2025

Blogs are being killed off, they’re not dying.

Most major tech giants hate them because they’re incredibly democratizing. With a blog and an RSS feed, it’s possible to get sequential, uncurated and uninterrupted content with zero advertising, for free for as long as the content provider wants. That’s kind of insane when you think about it.

If you haven’t started a blog, here’s a few reasons to do it:

• It’s a good way to publicly log your thoughts, especially if you’re working in a specific industry

• It’s a free way to reach people in your industry, or even just update friends

• Because it’s open source, a change in a social media’s platform preferences can’t touch it.

• It’s fun to put up stuff

You don’t have to be good at it, or post regularly, or do anything elaborate. That’s not the point.

If you have a blog, or follow a really great blog, could you leave a link in the comment section? I’m always looking to find cool new stuff!
